Soldiers need chaplains.
No, not all soldiers think they do - most may not say it up front. But go to a location where they've been without a chaplain for awhile and you will see hunger. No, we're well fed at the DFAC. I mean spiritual hunger.
At Ghazni this week, I noted that many had not seen a chaplain in awhile. It's a Polish FOB, so there is smaller American presence. I held a service while I was there and it was awesome - not that I was at all amazing, but God really reached out to a few who were really hurting in their faith. A long time in the field, some bad influences (don't be fooled - they corrupt good character), and no one there to occasionally just point the way toward God.
Please keep in prayer all of those at FOB Ghazni who, as one soldier put it, feel "stuck" in their faith. As I told him, none of us are stuck. It was for freedom that Christ set us free. We are now free to be what He wants us to become, not what we were once stuck with.
I'm in Salerno today. Lots of flying lately. Pray that I will impact those here, just as I was able to at Ghazni. Christ is already here, it is just a matter of linking Him with His people, who sometimes get too busy to look for Him. Sound famliar?
